Mission trip to ChichicastenangoLeaving on a Jet Plane
Tomorrow we head to Guatemala on a jet plane. The whole team is stoked on what God has in store for each and every one of us. During our commissioning event on Wednesday Keith Carlson, Grace’s Pastor of Outreach, asked what is one word you would use to describe what you are about to embark on. Little 9-year-old Mia Glass said Miracle. All I could think is WOW! Truer words good not have been spoken. So many miracles have already taken place. Reaching a very aggressive funding goal, Alisa Guevara leaving college for a week which meant she had to spend her spring break getting ahead, and so many other things that have happened to make sure this trip is not stopped. I wait with great anticipation what other miracles God has in store for us. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travel tomorrow.
Taking of a Posture of Jesus
During training this week we discussed God’s desire for us to take a posture of His son Jesus. This posture becomes even more important as we leave our culture here in the United States to experience a new culture in Guatemala. We saw through Paul’s words in Philippians Jesus humble nature through a spirit of humility and to first be a servant to others rather than self. We continue to discuss how God called us to all be on this trip together and wait with anticipation on how God will change our hearts.
Team Training Begins
We learned everybody’s name yesterday and learned Amanda is awkward, Dale is Dynamic, and Abi is Antsy or least that is how we learned everyone’s name. We are all looking forwad to what God is going to do.
